NATALIE GALVAU
A 23 year old First Class Design Graduate, visual artist and avid storyteller, using my design practice as a means of engaging with both political and social rhetoric. My recent projects centre around editorial design, with a focus on shining a light on the voices of those subject to social injustices, where I adopt a proactive role in several community support initiatives. More generally, I seek out opportunities in all of my practices to have a positive socio-cultural impact.
While I have more technical experience within film and media, I do not believe I have yet found my specific role in the design world and as a result am constantly exploring the boundaries and definitions of what design can be. I do so by taking on various opportunities and projects to broaden my understanding of design and build on my skillset. For me, design thinking means taking on whatever roles are demanded of the project and adapting to the operations needs of the design. Therefore, I strive to become whatever a project needs of me: critical thinker, artist, film maker, environmentalist, activist, teacher, user etc.
